Thomas W. Wolfrum

Certified as a Family Law Specialist in 1993, Thomas Wolfrum was invited to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in 1993 and invited to become a Fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in 2003. Mr. Wolfrum represents clients from many walks of life in all aspects of family law, including cases involving significant assets, domestic and international businesses, domestic and international custody disputes, support, and high conflict.

Mr. Wolfrum is and has been for the 40 plus years he has been a trial attorney recognized by his peers, clients, judges, and others as an outstanding trial attorney and person. Mr. Wolfrum began his legal career as a public defender from 1973 to 1979 rising very quickly from an entry level attorney to trying homicide cases. Mr. Wolfrum has been a Super Lawyer™ every year since 2008. He was Editor in Chief of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Law Journal from 2010 to 2012 and continues as an editorial board member. He also represented the AAML on the Uniform Law Commission’s Family Law Joint Editorial Board from 2008 to 2011. Mr. Wolfrum founded the Contra Costa County Family Law Pro Per Clinic. He is an active fund raiser for programs benefiting children of divorce for the AAML Foundation.

Mr. Wolfrum earned his B.A. at California State University at Los Angeles in 1968. He earned his Juris Doctorate at the University of California Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco in 1972. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1972. In 1972, he was admitted to practice in all California state courts, the United States Federal District Court for the Northern and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 1993. He resides in central Contra Costa County.

Mr. Wolfrum’s professional practice focuses on helping individuals effectively solve their family law problems and emerge from the process with a strong, positive, and joyful foundation.


Kathleen Geldson

Since 1989, Ms. Geldson has been helping our clients prioritize their legal needs. Almost all our clients remark about her calming influence.

Ms. Geldson works with clients from their initial telephone call to assisting with trial preparation.

Ms. Geldson’s hours are noon to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. She can be contacted at Extension 202 to help prioritize issues. Ms. Geldson also manages the office.

Ms. Geldson earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989 and her Paralegal Certificate in 1991 from California State University at Hayward.


Julie Shaddle

Since joining the firm as a paralegal in 2003, Julie Shaddle has been an integral part of our litigation team with primary responsibility for obtaining and organizing discovery and, since its inception in January 2006, compliance with the Contra Costa County Superior Court Family Law Division’s Pretrial Order.

Ms. Shaddle works directly with our clients to complete the myriad forms required in family law actions.

Ms. Shaddle oversees compliance with the subpoenas and other discovery requests. She assists our clients in complying with the statutory disclosure statutes and assists Mr. Wolfrum in preparing the documentation necessary to resolve issues by negotiation.

Ms. Shaddle also oversees physical compliance with and produces most of the documents required to comply with the Contra Costa County’s Pretrial Order, a formidable task.
